Hiring a car so you can easily get around is a great idea while you’re in Adelaide. Just a 40-minute drive from the CBD is Oakbank, the home of the Easter Racing Carnival, where you will find the Karkoo Garden Centre.  Housed in the historic Johnston Brewery, Karkoo is so much more than a nursery. Here you will find three acres filled with plants, pots, garden art, fashion, home/gift store, furniture and antiques/vintage finds. Hahndorf is near and dear to me as it is the place I grew up. The main street is full of little shops to explore and some great cafes and restaurants. One of my favourite things to do when in Hahndorf is to drop into Somerled Cellar Bar when strolling down the main street. Run by the Moody family, Rob is a former wine maker for Penfolds and Wynns.

Here, you will find a wine to suit all tastes. While you’re there, you should try the anchovy sticks, or have some cheese puffs to snack on whilst enjoying the ambience.
